There are thousands of kids games. From my experience the best kids games are the simplest, and have usually been around for generations.

Kids video games are more popular than ever. Despite economic downturns in the USA and UK, video game and console sales continue to increase, with an amazing 57% growth over the previous year in the USA alone, according to the research company NPD. Some of this growth is related to the new video consoles, many of which appeal to younger children. Touch screens and interactive menus make video game play possible for preschoolers, with games featuring favorite characters add to the attraction. With so many consoles to choose from, many families are multi console owners, with different consoles appealing to different age groups and tastes in games.

But what does this mean for more traditional kids games?
Board games have been around for thousands of years, with the earliest board games dated around 3500BC. Most of the board games you find in the shops are variations on a classic theme, although you do find some original twists.

Classic kids board games are still popular, but consumer trends are dictating a need for more modern versions. According to an article by Michelle R. Smith, Associated Press Writer, families are busier than ever, and often don’t have time to play the traditional board games. In contrast, kids are getting used to picking up games consoles and playing their games in short bursts. In response, companies such as Hasbro, who make favorites such as Scrabble, Monopoly and The Game of Life, are adapting to the needs of their customers by coming up with versions of their games that can be played within 20 minutes. The advantage of these games, is that they open the game up for direct interaction with family and friends, as opposed to the usual solo play mode of video games.

Playground games are still being played, thank goodness. Kids still love hopscotch, jump rope (skipping), elastic games, even dodge ball. Despite protestations of many a parent, kids love rough and tumble, and medicine balls and bull dog games are still popular, especially amongst boys. Will this ever change? Probably not, most kids play these sort of games at some point or other, and live to tell the tale!

Party games are still as firm a favorite as ever. Kids games can make or break a party, but it isn’t hard to plan a few fun party games to make your party a real hit. Classic games such as Musical Bumps, Pin the Tail on the Donkey, and Pass the Parcel will always be popular. Make sure that the games are played fairly as more tears can be caused at parties because someone feels that another guest has cheated, than any other reason. Prizes are expected, but these do not have to be elaborate. Kids enjoy the fun of the game and most are content with some yummy candy.

These stuff have both the adventure and the entertainment factor due to which both the kids as well as adults like to play this one. You can also play the flash based Batman games on about every web browser. There are simple ones for kids and also the highly graphical games for teenagers or adults. The difficulty levels are different as per the age group but the fun remains the same.
